Quiñones was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and raised in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. In 1977 began his career as a singer in NYC performing with Rafael de Jesús, and José Alberto “El Canario” to name a couple. In 1990, he went solo and scored his first #1 single on the Latin Tropical chart with “Tu Como Estas”.
